Description of Service:

Disability Services: counselling, personal, social, academic and career exploration, vocational assessments, peer tutoring, workshops on study skills, comprehensive health services, complete housing information and registry, employment information and job placement assistance, and job-search techniques. Available accommodations include: extended test/exam time, recorders, FM audio-enhancement devices, print enlargement, note taker services coordination, interpreter coordination, extended time for completion of assignments, taped textbooks/books on disc, scribes, readers, print magnifiers, computers/word processors (with adaptive equipment, i.e. voice access or text assistance), alternative testing procedures and/or evaluation methods, scanners, and screen readers.

Literacy and Basic Skills: Basic academic upgrading, communication and life skills training, computer literacy (child care available)

College Vocational Program (CVP): Two-year course which offers both classroom and co-operative education specifically for students with learning difficulties, and is designed to assist the student’s development in academic, independent living and working skills. Supervised work training experiences are the core of the student’s program. These experiences along with individual vocational assessment and career subjects assist and support the student in planning realistically for an occupation and employment.
