Description of Service:

Adult Day Program (Bridging Abilities and/or Steps for Success Programs) : support adults with ASD to further develop the relevant skills that will enable them to participate in all aspects of their communities. Depending on the individual objectives and interests of each participant, the program may be able to support individuals with a broad range of skill-building goals including: social skills, community safety skills, life skills, self-management skills, academics, and vocational skills.

Eligibility: Young adults 18-30 years diagnosed with ASD or Asperger’s Syndrome, must live in Toronto. For more information, call 416 322-7877 ext. 511.

Pathways of Extended Learning: funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services. This program facilitates the transition from school to the community for adults with ASD by providing support for vocational goals, further education, leisure activities, social skill building and community participation. Opportunities are created to provide choices and options for successful community participation and optimal individual independence, after school completion.

Eligibility: Adults between 18 – 29 years of age who have a diagnosis of ASD or Asperger’s Syndrome and live in Toronto. An eligibility assessment is required to be completed for this program.

Pathways of Extended Learning – Adult Groups: is a fee-based group service program that allows individuals with a diagnosis of ASD or Asperger’s Syndrome to socialize with peers, access social support and engage in leisure activities. Some of the groups offered include: Introduction to Dance & Movement, Chit Chatters & Games Galore, The Ins & Outs, The Good Timers Group, T.DOT Thursdays, and Moving on Out! & The Adventure Squad.

Eligibility: Individuals 16 years and up who have a diagnosis of ASD or Asperger’s Syndrome. Must have moderate to low support needs and communicate verbally and/or effectively use a functional communication system.

Monarch Café Culinary & Hospitality Program: six month vocational program that provides students with a blended training experience working in a Café, combined with classroom instruction. This is a fee based service and successful applicants will be required to pay $1500 for this 6 month program.

Eligibility: Individuals between 18 – 29 years of age diagnosed with ASD or Asperger’s Syndrome. Individuals must also have moderate to low support needs, communicate verbally or effectively use a functional communication system, and have goals for employment or postsecondary education.
